Our Story
Our Musical Journey in Tenerife
Founded in the scenic south of Tenerife, Sonidos del Sur is a welcoming community choir that brings together individuals passionate about music. We meet every Thursday and perform three concerts annually, creating an inclusive environment for both men and women.
We proudly serve a vibrant community of music enthusiasts, enriching their lives through song. Our members come from various backgrounds, all united by their love for music and performance.

Music Director
Félix Alejandro Quiñones Ramírez is a Chilean-born music educator, choral conductor, and researcher. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a specialization in Choral Conducting from the Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación (UMCE) in Chile. He furthered his postgraduate studies in Spain, earning a Master's Degree in Musicology and Music Education, alongside a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
With twelve years of extensive teaching experience in primary and secondary school settings, he stands out for his pedagogical dedication and innovation in designing educational resources. In the choral field, he has built a rich background performing with various ensembles in both Chile and Spain, and has taken the podium to direct university, children's, and youth choirs.
Currently, he balances his work as a music teacher in Tenerife with his active participation in the Novae Vocal Group. Furthermore, he shares his passion for teaching by creating and distributing interactive educational materials through his music outreach project, @fqr_musica.
